At first ,I visited Vijayanagara, capital “Hampi”, in Hospet district of Karnataka state in the year 1974. But my father told me, he carried me to this place much earlier, in the year 1959.I never remember even slightest part of it .I was too young to remember such a remarkable incident. Really “Hampi” the metropolis in ruin today is a marvel to watch. It is a real wonder on earth to eyes. The city is planned in a careful manner. It serves every sense of high potential skills within its formation.The delightful temples, places, not one and two but dozens of them. They too are well fortified ones. The main deity here is Lord “Virupaksha”The pious river Tunghabhadra is a separate spirit mixed within this constructive glamour.

Second time I visited this ancient sentiment in the year 14th May, 1978, along with my newly married bride. It ought our family set up rule, a new bridegroom along with his new bride must visit this capital to surrender the marriage crown at the feet of Lord Virupaksha. Then onwards I visited this place several times. Last time it was August, 2010. But every visit here was a fruitful bag of new information for me. I collected every historical fact and facet during these visits. I got to know well, what is to be a history here. I found every pillar, tomb, tusks, horses, idols, Gods, Goddesses, monkeys, in granite, spoke to me . At the end of my visit I hopefully realized, I will always remain a guilty person, if I will not write a book on this forgotten empire. My family “Tree” also helped me a lot.
I derived this help through our anestral surnames, names, anecdotes in form of lyrics and from fables. All Vijayanagara rulers, 18 in number were of “Shepherd” caste and cult. The following ancient lyric will provide you with more details about their presence as rulers here.
